Join us this year for the prestigious annual ATPY Awards Banquet. The ATPY event boasts the premier event where the who's who of the telecom industry rub elbows and honor outstanding achievements for the year.

More than 600 of Atlanta’s most influential telecommunications executives, including 30 CIOs and a number of CEOs, attended the event kicked off by special guest speaker Ralph de la Vega, President and CEO of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets and ATP’s first Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year Award recipient in 2004.

Karen Finger, Qwest Communications, chaired the event.

ATP presented Glenn Lurie, President, Emerging Devices, Resale and Partnerships, AT&T Mobility,the 2009 Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year award.

“I am extremely grateful for this distinct honor that I share with the entire AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets team,” Lurie said. “In the past year my team has been charged with identifying new, emerging devices to connect to the AT&T wireless network and we’ve made tremendous progress. Today, we have several new products powered by our network, including netbooks, eReaders, and personal navigation devices. It is a real privilege to be honored amongst this very distinguished group of individuals.”

During the evening ATP also honored:
2009 ATP Leadership Award: Van Williams, SVP and Group CTO, Depository Institution Services, Fiserv, Inc. "I'm honored to be counted among the outstanding leaders nominated this year, yet the credit really goes to the talented team of innovative associates within Fiserv," said Williams. "Together, we've been able to leverage technology to help manage the needs of a diverse global workforce, allowing us to collaborate and deliver products and services that are changing the way consumers manage their financial lives. Our success allows Fiserv to be a recognized leader in the markets we serve."

2009 ATP Innovation Award: Richard Batelaan, COO, Cbeyond. "Cbeyond's continued success is based on our constant innovation, our genuine desire to enhance the communities in which we serve, and our ability to make our customers more productive. This recognition by the ATP solidifies that we have the right vision and strategy."

2009 ATP Enterprise Award: Dan Darling, CIO and SVP of Technology Productions and Operations, Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. "I am honored by this recognition by ATP and grateful that they provide the opportunity to foster knowledge-sharing and innovative thinking. Atlanta's reputation as an international technology center is reinforced by ATP and its membership.”
