Dan Darling, CIO, Turner Broadcasting System

Dan Darling is chief information officer and senior vice president of technology production and operations for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., (TBS Inc.) In this capacity Darling is responsible for the overall management of the ten key technology divisions which are the backbone of both the broadcast delivery and systems infrastructure for the Company.

 

These technology divisions encompass the 24-hour technical and operational support for the company’s many entertainment networks; its full service broadcast and broadband, live and post-production division; four domestic and international Information Technology groups as well as all application development; CNN’s worldwide broadcast engineering and systems technology division supporting CNN Worldwide’s cable and satellite television networks; New York based tru-TV’s production and operations group and lastly oversight of the Global Broadcast Technology division. Collectively, these divisions encompass some 2,000 employees in Atlanta, New York, Washington, DC, London, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires.

Duane Baldwin, MBA, CISSP - COMSYS, a Manpower Professional Company

As a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Mr. Baldwin has more than 20 years in information security and information systems management, holding high ranking positions in the corporate, government, and financial sectors.

Mr. Baldwin’s work experience includes Fortune 500 companies such as SunTrust Banks, Abbott Laboratories, TJX, Bank One, Cisco Systems, and Dow Chemical. In 1999, he was part of the team that received the Computer Security Institute’s award for the nation’s best information security program.

Mr. Baldwin developed client/server architectures for secure financial transactions over public networks. This facilitated the deployment of banking services and retail sales of products over the Internet. These projects were the companies’ first deployment of secure financial transactions over the Internet and serve as the basis for the offering of additional services. His work with standards has been implemented on a national level. As a member of the ABA Information Security Infrastructure Taskforce he collaborated on establishing security standards for financial Institutions. He also worked on the National X9 committee, developing and reviewing ANSI standards for secure electronic commerce.

Mr. Baldwin has worked with companies and agencies developing strategies for compliance with standards such as Sarbanes Oxley, PCI, GLBA, ISO 17799, NIST, DOE regulations, HIPAA, and others. This broad range of requirements provides the opportunity assist clients addressing best practices for their particular industry and environment and demonstrate means of establishing the appropriate level of security for their organization.

Mr. Baldwin has extensive experience with government agencies at the state and federal levels, working with both civilian and military personnel, to deploy and secure the nations cyber infrastructure in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy and the Department of Homeland Security.

Mr. Baldwin has performed cyber security assessments for a variety of enterprises with evaluations of both internal and external connections. These security assessments of both government and corporate connections have evaluated compliance with regulations, standards, directives, policies, and procedures. The results of some of this work at government laboratories and nuclear facilities have been published for Congress. The assessment of root causes of vulnerabilities discovered has been instrumental in eliminating weak points and improving processes for maintaining critical systems.

Mr. Baldwin holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University.

 

Richard Haslam, Client Partner, Orange Business Services – Richard brings 25+ years of telecommunications industry experience to his role with Orange Business Services where he is a trusted partner to the outsourcing and large project clients. When Orange Business Services was known as Equant, Richard held an executive role for sales and presales where he built his team from the ground up to over 70 engineers. He was a founding member of the joint venture between Equant and Reuters, now called BT/Radianz. As a founding member, he reported directly to the CEO and led a global team responsible for migrating over 6,000 Reuters client sites from a variety of networks to the Radianz IP Extranet platform. Additionally, as head of the extranet business unit, he managed a P&L of $300M.

  

Padmakar Gokhale (Paddy), Tech Mahindra“Strategies to enable Greenfield Operator Launch.”

Padmakar Gokhale (Paddy) is a senior executive with over 19 years in the Technology sector with experience and exposure to Global business having performed and led various initiatives in North America, Europe & India.

Paddy has been associated with Tech Mahindra for over 6 years in various capacities. His expertise lies B/OSS implementations and in building complex solutions and system integrations that involve multiple stakeholders and organization. He has a track record of delivering integrated multiproduct COTS for wireline, wireless and IP TELCO Operators on behalf of Tech Mahindra.

He is currently Sr Program Manager and Principal Consultant focusing on B/OSS solutions for Americas.

In his current role, Paddy leads Client Relationships with large Telecom companies & Enterprises that are launching new services or are adding lines of business to their existing offerings.

Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Paddy has worked for IT services companies with a focus on Telecom sector and Syatem Integration and has created and managed business in US, Europe, SE Asia and India.

Paddy holds a BE (Computer Science) from Birla Institute of Technology in India.
