Fred Tanzella

A veteran technology executive with a track record of starting and growing companies to successful acquisitions. Fred has led strategy, development and operations of large scale enterprise and commercial applications across multiple industries. Fred is currently the Chairman of Colocube, a managed hosting, colocation, IP transit services and backup storage company that serves a global customer base. In addition to heading up Colocube, Fred founded and oversees Glick Interactive, an award-winning software development firm that provides development resources and expertise to Colocube.

Prior to Colocube and Glick, Fred was the EVP at Kaneva, a Massively Multiplayer Online Game platform and video distribution company, and has been successful in a wide variety of senior management positions at EAS, Critical Logic, i2Go, Air2Web, BEA Systems and AirDefense in roles that included CTO, Chief Security Officer, VP of Engineering, and VP of Product Management.

Before joining the Kaneva team, Fred was the Chief Security Officer and founding member of AirDefense, the industry leading wireless monitoring and protection provider, and helped define their technology strategy and built relationships with Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. AirDefense was acquired by Motorola.

Fred was a founding member of WysDM, a global data protection and backup management company, and helped lead product strategy and software. WysDM was was acquired by EMC.

At BEA Systems, Fred was a key contributor to the formation of the SaaS Expert Group and helped develop a roadmap for Pervasive Computing for WebLogic while heading up that group at BEA.  BEA Systems was acquired by Oracle.

Prior to BEA Systems, Fred helped define strategy and direction of the Air2Web Mobile Internet Platform that is the leading enterprise wireless enabler and handles traffic for 500+ carriers in 170 countries.  

Prior to Air2Web, Fred was a founding member of i2Go, and led the engineering team in the design and development of the world's first interactive MP3 player. i2Go was acquired by Audiovox.

As an industry expert, Fred is regularly invited to speak at industry conferences both nationally and abroad and has appeared on ZDnet TV, CNN, The Money Channel and ESPN Radio. Fred is often quoted in national publications and considered a trusted source for both analysts and media. He has authored over two dozen technology patents in the areas of Internet security, wireless security, wireless technology, mobile commerce, and multi-media as well as numerous white papers published on these subjects.

Fred also serves on the Board of Directors for the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Education Collaborative.

Fred holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Tech.
